India played Sussex on 7-10th July at Chelmsford in a 4 day game.
India's batsmen opened well, but batted cautiously to end on 388-7 declared. All of the top 6 scored over double figures with Laxman top scoring with 95. Gautam Gambhir also got 81 but Rahul Dravid retired on 57 n he is a possible doubt for the first test.
Sussex replied with 300-6 declared with AJ Hodd top scoring with. India's batting collapsed to 184-8 declared leaving Sussex a target of 273 runs. They ended day 4, and the tour match on 190-9, just denying India victory.
Tomorrow (FRIDAY) England Lions play India in a 3 day game where India wont play Dravid i dnt fnk.
England A (the lions) are likely to start with this line up:
1 Andrew Strauss (capt)- opening batsman for England, desperately trying to recover his form.
2 Joe Denly- dont know much about him. Kent batsman who was firstly noticed on an England U19 tour of India in 2005 ( i fnk)
3 Ravinder Bopara- Impressed in the ODI's vs West Indies, could be the next great all rounder. Medium pace and a good steady batsman
4 Owais Shah- Has only played a couple of tests for England, but is starting to become recognised as an ODI player who can fill in with players injured
5 Jonathan Trott- Warwickshire batsman. South African born but used same system as KP to play for England.
6 Tim Bresnan- Young Yorkshire fast bowler, good at swinging the ball, but dont know THAT much about him
7 Tim Ambrose (wk)- Exciting young Warwickshire wicketkeeper batsman. Explosive batting and by all reports (the birmingham mail ) he has rescued the Bears on more than one occasion this year
8 Chris Tremlett- tall, fast Hampshire bowler. He was 12th man in most of the matches in the Ashes and hasnt really been given a proper chance.
9 Stuart Broad- Leicestershire all rounder who has been involved in last few England squads
10 Graham Onions- Durham bowler. Was in the frame for the ICC Champions Trophy squad but was overlooked. Right arm medium bowler- pretty much line and length
11 Adil Rashid- 19 year old leg spinner who can turn the ball! He has shot to fame and could make a major impact in this 3 day match
So who is going to win the test series? let the arguments begin
